CRESCENT BAY DISTRICT GRY BDR

How Do I Become Trained?

There are a number of courses that are required in order to be considered a ‘Trained’ Scouter.  Below are the courses that you will need to complete in order to wear the BSA ‘Trained’ patch on your uniform.

BSA training is available online and in a classroom environment. You may attend training in any of the BSA districts or councils. Please provide Crescent Bay District with a copy of your certificate of completion or ID training card so that we can update your training record in ScoutNet.

Online training is available at www.myscouting.org. Crescent Bay District’s training schedule and registration form are on our website at www.crescentbay.bsa-la.org, or the Council’s website at www.bsa-la.org.

You have two options to complete and record your online training:

1.      If you have your BSA Membership ID Number you may open an account and your online training will automatically update into your ScoutNet record.  ID numbers are located on your unit’s roster, your BSA Membership ID card, or you can call the Crescent Bay District office.

2.      If you don’t have your BSA Membership ID Number, or you don’t want to open an account, please follow these procedures:

-select: New to My Scouting? (right side of page)

-My Scouting Registration Page:  Council Number is WLACC – Van Nuys #051

-Member ID: leave blank

-after you complete the online course, please print the Certificate of Completion and then fax, scan, mail, or drop off to our District Office at the address below.

In order to be considered ‘Trained’ and wear the ‘Trained’ patch, you will need to complete the following trainings for your position:

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the Westside Service Center or to attend any of our Roundtable sessions.  Roundtables are a great way to find out what is going on within the District on a wide range of topics and to meet with your peers and fellow Scouters.  The Roundtables are held at 6:30 pm on the second Thursday of each month at the Santa Monica LDS Stake Center at 3400 Sawtelle Blvd, just north of Palms Blvd.
